  1. How does this thing work? This thing polls the RSS feeds of several of the finest California Golden Bear news sources available and publishes either headlines or excerpts. ALL links on CalBearWire take you directly to the original website where the story was published. In the end, everyone should be happy. Also, the Depth Chart/Rosters, Schedules, and Top Ten Youtube Videos are just as cool the feeds.
  2. What is a “News Blog?” I made the term up, but it’s really just the midway between “Fan Blogs” and “News and Columns.” BearTalk is awesome, so I thought it deserved its own category.
  3. How do I navigate the news feed? If you click on any of the categories (that’s the yellow bar with the blue text), you will be directed to all the headlines/excerpts under that category. Want to check out what’s going on in the blogosphere? Click on “Fan Blogs” and you’ll get all the Fan Blog stuff in one place. What if you only want to check out what Ragnarok posted on California Golden Blogs? Or what Ken posted on EMFMV? You roll your mouse over “Fan Blogs” and click on “California Golden Blogs” or “EMFMV” I know, I’m a genius.
  4. What’s the impetus behind this site? All of a sudden, web design has become a passion of mine so I naturally combined this passion with sports. I’m an anti-mainstream media type of guy(except for that ESPN widget…but how else do I put updated scores?) and thats one of the main reasons I made this site. It empowers the local media and the blogs. That’s the way it should be. In the end, we all know Lee Corso doesn’t know squat.
  5. Dude, you totally missed this one site’s feed. If you have a recommendation for an RSS feed, feel free to email me at calbearwire@gmail.com and I’ll see if A) It’s appropriate and B) if the website does not prohibit me from using that feed headline/excerpt.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time on this website, but am open to spending much more. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to email me.

AND GO BEARS!
